What to do in the event of an accident/breakdown

Roadside Assistance
In the unlikely event of an accident or breakdown that requires vehicle repair, the following services are offered to support customers.1. Towing and transportation (free of charge up to JPY 150,000)2. Battery failure3. Out of fuel – Delivery of fuel (gasoline, diesel fuel)4. Out of fuel – Reimbursement for fuel cost (limited to once per year)5. Keys locked in vehicle6. Flat tire – Spare tire exchange7. Accidents/breakdowns resulting from natural disasters (not including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis)RecommendedJAF CardNot available for T2 (vans), T3, T4, and BUS classesUsing a JAF Card as an option, customers can receive additional support beyond the items mentioned above.1. Compensation in the event of an accident
Compensation amountsIn the event of an accident, insurance benefits will be compensated within the following limits.Bodily injuryOne person: Unlimited (including liability insurance coverage)Property damageOne accident: Unlimited [cost of JPY 50,000 by customer (deductible)]VehicleOne accident: Market value [cost of JPY 50,000 by customer (deductible)], except for buses and large cargo vehicles, for which the cost of JPY 100,000 is covered by customer (deductible)Personal injury (physical disability)Up to 30 million yen per person*1*1. Compensation for damages/loss resulting from injuries (including death and permanent disability) caused by a car accident to a passenger, regardless of the driver's fault ratio. (Limit of JPY 30 million: (Damange/loss amount is determined by the insurance company in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.)* The customer is responsible for insurance deductibles and damage ratios in excess of the insurance benefit.* In the event of an accident that falls under the insurance exclusion, insurance benefits will not be paid. In addition, insurance benefits may not be paid in some cases if there is no proof of accident (accident report) from the police.Instances not covered by insurance/compensation system・Instances not covered by insurance/compensation system・Accidents occurring when someone other than the applicant at the time of pick-up/departure is driving・Accidents occurring while driving without a driver's license・Accidents occurring while driving under the influence of alcohol・Accidents occurring while driving during an extended period of rental without permission・Violation of other items in the TOYOTA Rental & Leasing rental agreement, etc. -
To be paid by the customer in the event of an accident
Insurance deductibleCustomers are responsible to pay the deductible amount, which is not covered by insurance.

Non Operation Charge (NOC)
In the event of an accident, theft, breakdown, stains/damage, etc., requiring vehicle repairs, cleaning, etc., the following amounts, called a non-operation charge (NOC), will be charged to compensate for business lost during the period of the accident, theft, breakdown, stains/damage, etc. (Please note that this amount is different from the amount of insurance coverage).If the vehicle can be driven and is returned to the scheduled return locationJPY 20,000 (non-taxable)If the vehicle cannot be driven and is not returned to the scheduled return locationJPY 50,000 (non-taxable)*JPY 50,000 for a vehicle that can be driven but is not returned to the scheduled rental location (e.g., left on the road), JPY 50,000 will be charged.RecommendedToyota Rent a Car Double Protection Package (optional)Customers opting in to this plan will be exempt from paying the above-mentioned Non-Operation Charge (NOC), and in the event of an accident, will also be exempt from paying the costs to be covered by customer (deductible) not covered by insurance.*Repair cost of flat tires, loss/damage to hubcaps only is also included.FeeJPY 1,650 (JPY 1,500 not incl. tax) / up to 24 Hr.* JPY 2,750 (JPY 2,500 not incl. tax) for 1 or 2 license plate category vehicles
